PC has almost an unlimited amount of headroom for games especially when compared to their console counter parts as PCs can have all sort of different components installed. Since EA aren’t currently doing anything with the skate series these games are looking to fill this gap. There are a few projects on kickstarter that are going to be making their way onto the PC market. These games can’t be as detailed or as complex as games such as the skate series because they are limited by mobile phones’s hardware but they can still use modern tools for development.
The physics are also realistic too because depending on the device they have a more powerful CPU than early 2000’s consoles. This is similar to Skates controls but you use touch to emulate the legs of your character. While still limited by the devices’ hardware mobile skateboarding games takes advantage of the touch controls to move the board. These controls mimic how a skateboarder would control the board in real life more than using the buttons this also makes tricks more intuitive.īecause these games are released on PS3 and Xbox 360 they have more ram and better parts than the older generation, these games are also open world and are graphically better.
the Skate series uses the analogue sticks for different tricks, They call this”flickit”. The skate series is known for is more realistic approach to physics, animation and gameplay. The hardware and the peripherals were more basic than today’s technology so the gameplay is a more arcade-y by today’s standards.Īs the Next generation of hardware came out (Sony’s Playstation 3 and Microsoft’s Xbox 360) The Tony hawk’s games can now be open world.
